As the ‘roadmap’ out of the national ‘lockdown’ continues, Ruddington’s main fitness providers are eager to show health-conscious villagers their expanded facilities.
Compound Strength & Conditioning reopened its doors on Monday 12th April along with brand new sister gym Compound Second Space two doors’ away. The independent, locally run fitness centres provide everything from open gym to personal training to sports massage – and have studio space available for instructors to rent, too. They’re also the home of Nottingham Weightlifting Club.
Co-owners Jules Abbott, Sam ‘Bobby’ Goulding and Max Abbott {pictured} are promising a COVID-safe environment – with social distancing, strict cleaning measures and a booking system in place. Max, who also runs Ruddington’s new Pet Pantry, says: “Having been closed for a large amount of the past year due to COVID-19 lockdowns, we and our coaches are eager to get back in and provide the local community with the best health and fitness services.”
Sessions have been held online during the pandemic, but the trio are keen to get everyone back in to their Brookside Road premises – comprising their two gyms, the studio, personal training and sports massage.
Max adds: “As Coronavirus measures are relaxed in the next step of the roadmap (17th May 2021) there will also be yoga and pilates classes in the studio, as well as a return of ‘boxing for fitness’.”
